WhatsApp could introduce a new feature that allows users to purchase goods and services directly from the chat window. The feature is currently under development.
According to Mashable, users of WhatsApp business accounts will be able to deliver product catalogs directly to customers from the chat window. The buy button will be added to the app, which will be available in India in the coming months. The button will allow users to add items to a cart and check out from the WhatsApp chat. The latest feature aims to help small businesses that have been hit hard by the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
In announcing the feature, WhatsApp said in a statement, “We will expand the means for users to view available products and make purchases directly from a chat. We also want to make it easier for businesses to integrate these features into their existing business and customer solutions. This will help many small businesses that were hit the hardest during this time. “
