Aditya Roy Kapur’s rotten luck in the movies seems to have ended with Anurag Basu’s Ludo. In Ludo, we saw the actor we fell in love with Aashiqui 2 and in Guzaarish. In Fitoor, Aditya Roy Kapur was up against the inimitable Tabu and while he really wasn’t to blame, the movie got people talking more about his OST and Kapur’s terrific physique instead of the movie.

Like Dev Chaudhry in Kalank, Kapur brought some calm dignity to his role but again, the film was a huge box office dud. Malang was predictable but Kapur’s chemistry with Disha Patani saved all that could be salvaged. Then, Ludo happened, and thank goodness. As Akash Chauhan, Kapur was the perfect mix of boyfriend material and laid back fuck buddy. Her relationship with Sanya Malhotra is what makes friends-beneficiaries dreams. Despite the fantastic performances from Pankaj Tripathi, Rajkummar Rao and Abhishek Bachchan, Kapur managed to hold on.

However, with OM – The inner battle, Kapur will take another step forward in a genre dominated by Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff. Directed by Kapil Verma, Aditya Roy Kapur will be seen in “An Action Avatar”. He already has the body for it, it remains to be seen if he has the dynamic personality necessary for a high octane movie. We’ve always seen Aditya Roy Kapur perform best when he can be the calm and raw or funny and charming character. We hope he will manage to stand out with OM – The inner battle.

The filming schedule for this film will begin next month and the film is slated for release next year.

In other news, do you want to know if Kapur really “stole” Ranveer Singh’s girlfriend from college? Of course you do. Click here.
