Taylor Swift’s masters were once again sold for the second time. Famous manager Scooter Braun has sold the singer’s first six albums to an investment company in a deal that values the assets at around $ 300 million.

Swift criticized the famous manager for his actions and said he wanted to silence her in exchange for the opportunity to bid on his own job. It was reported that Braun sold the main Swift recordings to a private equity firm called Shamrock Holdings. Swift took to Twitter to respond to reports that Braun has sold Big Machine Label Group, which includes the core rights to Swift’s first six albums.

The Grammy-winning singer took to Twitter to explain her side of the story. In a long note, she expressed her dissatisfaction with the deal, saying it denied her the ability to buy back the bands herself and take control of the rights to her first six albums.

Take a look at the tweets below.

The singer shared that she wanted to reclaim her music and tried to start negotiations with Braun, but her team asked her to sign “a rock-solid NDA” before she could even make an offer. She also went on to reveal that she has started re-recording the songs and finds it creatively fulfilling.

Under her contract with Republic Records and Universal Music Group, she is authorized to re-record songs from these first six albums, which include “Taylor Swift ”(2006),“ Fearless ”(2008),“ Speak Now ”(2010),“ Red ”(2012),“ 1989 ”(2014) and“ Reputation ”(2017).

Last year, Braun’s Ithaca Holdings purchased Big Machine Records along with the Swift catalog. The two have been arguing continuously since then. In November 2019, Swift accused Scott Borchetta and Braun of not allowing her to perform her older tracks at the American Music Awards. She also said they did not give her permission to use her old masters in her Netflix documentary, “Miss Americana” (2020).
