Marvel is finally doing it. The studio will be bringing the character of Moon Knight to our screen from the comics.

Moon Knight will receive his own Disney + web series, and actor Oscar Isaac is in talks to take on the title role, according to a report by Variety. Disney and Marvel have announced that Moon Knight will be part of the studio’s Phase 4, but there has been no confirmation on the actor playing Moon Knight.

It won’t be Isaac’s first introduction to the prestigious MCU. The actor also starred in X-Men: Apocalypse, although this film was released before Marvel took over the film’s rights to the X-Men franchise. Isaac is also familiar with Disney characters, as seen in the Star wars trilogy like Poe Dameron.

But while the cast is still being discussed, the director has been finalized. According to Deadline the series will be directed by famous Egyptian filmmaker Mohamed Diab. Diab is the director of renowned films like Cairo 678 and Shock, which opened at the Cannes Film Festival. Diab also wrote Island franchise.

Moon Knight is a character fans have been waiting patiently for. Last year, the Russo Brothers gave their approval to see Keanu Reeves in the role. The duo spoke IMDb at San Diego Comic-Con last year and were asked what they think of Reeves playing Moon Knight. Both agreed that Reeves’ casting would definitely be a good call. “

Marvel tried to get the John wick actor on board for a while now. They wanted Reeves to play Yon Rogg in Captain Marvel, a role that ultimately went to Jude Law.
