An all-female Avengers team isn’t impossible. There might still be a chance that we could witness the fact that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe Letitia Wright is confident about it.
the Black Panther star recently sat down with Yahoo! Entertainment, where she revealed her enthusiasm for her upcoming projects. She also explained how she believed a female-only Avengers movie is “just a matter of time.”
“I don’t think we have to fight for this,” she said. “Victoria Alonso [Marvel Studios’ EVP of Production] is very good at leading it, alongside Kevin [Feige], President of Marvel Studios]. It’s only a matter of time before they do. “
Wright also shared all the heroes she would love to fight with in the movie: Okoye (Danai Gurira), Nakia (Lupita Nyong’o), Ramonda (Angela Bassett), Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson).
“You absolutely have to have Captain Marvel, definitely,” she added.
Wright also spoke about the importance of playing Shuri, a strong and powerful black woman on screen. “I have always dreamed of playing someone who can make an impact not only for black women but also for women all over the world and young people too. To be able to have a combination of people and audience members who are so thrilled and grateful for Shuri is a good feeling. I feel like I have contributed to something positive in the world, ”she said.
