Kanye West conceded defeat in the US presidential election after securing just over 57,000 votes on Tuesday, although he hinted he would run for office in 2024.

The rapper posted a photo of himself on Twitter in front of an election card that read “WELP KANYE 2024”.

Earlier he tweeted “voting for the President of the United States for the first time in my life, and it’s for someone I really trust … in myself.” He then posted a video of himself voting in Cody, Wyoming, where he registered on the ballot.

The rapper ran for president in a handful of states, but not in battlefields like Florida, Pennsylvania and Michigan. He has spent the past few weeks teaching his followers how to vote for him as a registered candidate elsewhere.

West’s wife Kim Kardashian doesn’t appear to support his candidacy. She gave her husband no public endorsement and retweeted a message on the voter helplines of Democratic vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris on Tuesday.

The rapper was once one of Trump’s biggest celebrities, kicked off his White House campaign in July with erratic statements that raised concerns about his mental health. The winner of 21 Grammy Awards said in 2018 that he suffers from bipolar disorder. West loaned $ 6.7 million to his campaign, according to a filing with the Federal Election Commission, and in a recent video highlighted religion and family values.
