The novel coronavirus pandemic has resulted in thousands of deaths and weakened an already appalling global economy. With businesses being closed indefinitely due to lockdowns, no one really knows when the economy will stabilize. Today, according to media reports, COVID-19 may have bankrupted the world’s largest theater chain.
According to IndiewireAMC Theaters told regulators they would not do so when businesses returned to normal and said the loans may not be enough to stabilize their financial needs.
“We may not be able to secure additional cash and any relief provided by lenders, government agencies and business partners may not be adequate and may include onerous terms,” the 8K case said. “Because of these factors, there is significant doubt as to our ability to continue to exist for a reasonable period of time.”
