At the start of my career, I wanted to become an ad designer. I was so passionate about it that I broke into Ogilvy & Mather’s office to get an internship. It was a really big thing back then, something all of my marketing colleagues at business school aspire to. However, it was only a matter of time before I realized my real fondness for numbers, analysis, private equity transactions and business strategy. I worked several times in investment and strategy advisory roles at Kotak Mahindra, Mckinsey and Cushman & Wakefield, before finally finding my vocation in the Middle East.

MW: How would you define success? Can you list the three most important ingredients for success from your personal experience?

AM: Success, for me, is the ability to make a reasonable effort to achieve each of your goals and dreams, and the satisfaction of doing it to the best of your ability, regardless of the quantum of results. The three important ingredients for me are the 3Cs: courage, creativity and control. Courage to try things that others don’t want, creativity to think outside the box to solve problems, to control one’s mind, actions and thoughts. The first two come naturally to me and the third, I try to develop.

MW: How do you keep your motivation on a daily basis? Do you have a role model and what have you learned from her life?

AM: The desire not to finish mediocre motivates me. As the saying goes, mediocrity is always invisible until passion manifests and exposes it. My role models in life are Elon Musk and Virat Kohli. Elon Musk to be a visionary, and Virat Kohli to break the myth that you have to be born special, do extraordinary things in life.

MW: You are in great shape. What’s your fitness routine?

AM: I believe that physical fitness is one of the most important tools that allow an individual to maximize their potential. We all know the benefits of fitness, but I would like to stress the mental and physiological aspect of fitness, and the impact it can have on our everyday lives, especially for fitness professionals. business. As for my fitness routine, I wake up at around 5.30am every morning. I train an hour and a half a day, which includes an hour of strength training and 30 minutes of cardio.

MW: We haven’t seen a lot of senior professionals in business take their fitness obsession to these levels. What is your goal?

AM: There’s no point in doing something and not striving to be the best, or also close to the best. There were times people said I would never look like I finally did in a recent photoshoot. Many have told me that being such an experienced corporate professional with family and children is a healthy lifestyle. Yes, maybe for them, but not for me. I wanted to go the distance at least once, and now one of my other goals ticked the box. When it comes to brand approvals, I have been fortunate to be associated with some of the best nutrition brands in the country like “Absolute Nutrition”, India’s answer to foreign supplement brands, Eggon, which brings an unprecedented experience Flavored drink with egg white, “Herbchick” with its protein bars with chicken and Earthnut Peanut Butter, which offers a wide range of peanut butter products.

MW: Private Equity and business creation is stressful work. How do you de-stress?

AM: I am extremely passionate about two things at the moment. I’m a fitness freak, and secondly, I spend time studying and practicing Vedic Astrology. People know my passion for fitness. However, my interest in and knowledge of astrology is a well-kept secret and only very close friends know it.

MW: You are an established and reputable international executive of the C suite, a popular columnist, a fitness influencer, you love astrology. Quite a mix?

AM: I am a man on the go. I have passions to nurture, goals to achieve, and a clear plan on how to go about it. Isn’t that what your brand, MW, is famous for? A “world par excellence of a man on the move”, who comes of age and knows how to tackle what ignites his soul
