Hitting The Gym After 7 Months? Here’s What You Need To Do

To the delight of fitness enthusiasts everywhere, gyms and fitness centers in Maharashtra have reopened after more than seven months. If you’re demotivated that you’ve lost all of your gains or aren’t sure how to hit the gym after so long, we’ve got some great tips for you.

“Now that the gyms are opening, people are very excited and can’t wait to hit the gym and continue with their usual strength training routine. There are a few things they should watch out for before doing anything and doing something they shouldn’t be doing. The body has good muscle memory but has been disconnected from training and intensity. I would suggest that people start slowly for a week to begin with and do all body parts on the same day. They should also choose one or two movements from each part of the body and do one or two sets. Again, 12 to 15 reps at a light weight should be good, for a start. My advice is: don’t go too far this week. You will be in pain but this is nothing new to you, so don’t worry. Continue throughout the week with different exercises, mixing it with dumbbells and dumbbells. Add some cardio to finish your routine and do crunches and sit-ups every other day. And yes, don’t go over 45 to 60 minutes, including warming up and stretching, ”says famous fitness trainer Shivoham, referring to those who may not have worked out at all during the lockdown.

For Aadil Khan, a celebrity choreographer and social media influencer, the lockdown gave his body an “unwanted break” after 2011. It made him realize that his regular morning workouts acted as ways to wake his body up and with it. this, lethargy and unwanted weight had started to appear.

He hit a rut and couldn’t get out of it for three months, as many fitness enthusiasts hit due to the lockdown. However, he started to cycle around his apartment building and as the restrictions began to lift, he ordered some household equipment and began to manage his diet.

“I just have a tip for people who feel unmotivated to start over – if you could do it then, you can do it now! And you never know, this time around, the process may be faster. But yeah, take it slow and steady, it took eight months to wipe that body out of its shape, give it the same time to come back, ”he says.

Fitness influencer, Karran Kharas keeps it simple with his advice. Here is what he suggests you follow:

1) Go light. Preferably, practice the compound movements with the bar again.
2) Have someone locate you to verify your form.
3) Slowly overload.
4) Keep the first few weeks only to relearn the correct recruitment of muscles.
5) If you do regular bodyweight exercises, it will be much easier to come back.
