American automaker Ford has launched the much anticipated Bronco 2020 this year. It has been released in several variations intended to suit all types of adventurous pilots. But the automaker has now unveiled a new Bronco concept specifically designed to tackle the raging wildfires.

Ford has teamed up with outdoor gear brand Filson to create the Bronco Wildland Fire Rig. It is based on the Bronco Badlands four-door SUV and is covered in the unique Forest Service Green paint – similar to the first-generation US Forest Service Bronco.

Of course, it comes with all the equipment and features that require it to be resistant to high temperatures and includes a mini arsenal of fire fighting weapons. The Wildland Fire Rig includes a full skid with a 50 gallon water tank, winch and roof rack. It also includes equipment like a Pulaksi, shovel, axes, fire hose reel, high pressure water pump, chainsaw and lifting jack.

While Ford focused on the vehicle and its features, Filson helped by providing the otter green duck canvas used on the doors and armrests. The company also added quilted black leather seats – similar to those found on the lining of Filson jackets – with an embossed Bronco logo.

Ford’s commitment to fighting fires

Ford will donate two of these fire fighting Broncos to the United States. The automaker has consistently shown its support for the US fire department. Ford made an announcement earlier this week that comes from each Bronco and Bronco Sport the sale will go into a $ 5 million fund to support preservation, reforestation, education, and scholarships in support of U.S. forests.
