The very first digital edition of Lakme Fashion Week 2020 gave us an awesome experience that connected the space between digital and physical formats. The five-day extravagance provided us with virtual catwalks from top Indian designers such as Kunal Rawal, Manish Malhotra, Amit Aggarwal, among others.
From Manish Malhotra opening the season to Kunal Rawal’s ultra-cool “Process” collection, the designers have done their best this season. Here are the menswear designers whose collections we absolutely loved. Scroll down.
Kunal Rawal showcased his “Process” collection which saw monochrome silhouettes in the darker color palette. Shades such as blacks, grays, whites with its signature metallics were the highlight of the contemporary collection.
SUKRITI AND AAKRITI
For Sukriti and Aakriti’s festive collection, the models paraded along the catwalk in naturally tinted silhouettes that gave the collection a contemporary touch. Showstopper Aparshakti Khurrana closed the show in a straight cut ribbed kurta with a tight fitting bundi in naturally dyed yarn dyed Phulkari embroidery and slim fit tapered pants.
Manish Malhotra opened Lakme Fashion Week with his fashion film titled “Ruhaaniyat”. The collection was a tribute to Indian artisans and craftsmen and featured traditional clothing in fabrics such as silk, velvet and cotton. The collection’s color scheme has been seen in shades of mint green, teal, gray, dark pink and white.
The collection of sustainable brand Malai included printed sets and graphic t-shirts, made from bio-composite materials from coconut and natural fibers.
